Larimar - Peace, Clarity, Love

Larimar is the crystal of Peace, Unconditional Love, and Clarity and is the stone of the Dominican Republic and is believed to bring over us a sense of calm and soothing. The mesmerizing colors remind us of the waves of the ocean waters glistening in the sunlight with the bright, opaque bluse and whites with subtle greens here and there. In 1974, Norman Rilling, a member of the U.S. Peace Corps, and Miguel Méndez, a Dominican found pieces of Larimar on the seashore. The word Larimar was created by Mendez, who combined his daughter's name Larissa with the Spanish world for sea, Mar. On the MOHS, Larimar has a fairly wide range from 4 to 7.
